Florence is beautiful, the Tuscan landscape enchanting and the smaller medieval towns are charming. But let’s face it: the wine and the food experiences are magical. Although we love most things about Tuscany (other than the driving), it is the food and the wine that keeps us coming back.
Throughout our recent week in Tuscany, we ate so many different types of foods, tasted so many wines, and tried so many restaurants that we couldn’t begin to mention all of them. Nor do many of them merit much discussion. Some, however, were special experiences that we want to remember for years to come. Hopefully, they may also provide helpful for others who are planning their own food and wine experiences in this magical land.
Rather than one long post, we have divided them into a number of smaller posted, each dedicated to different types of Tuscan food and wine experiences. These include one post apiece on our favorites among our:
- Truffle Hunt and lunch;
- Cooking class;
- Winery tours and tastings;
- Food and wine stores; and
- Restaurant meals.
