Sedona art is everywhere. In addition to its natural beauty of red rock cliffs, buttes, and eerie formations, its street art and galleries are an additional way to see a different kind of art

Sedona Art

Sedona claims to have more galleries per capita than any small city in the country, with the exception of Santa Fe. Most of the most interesting galleries are located in three complexes.

• Hillside Shops. As its name suggests, it is built on a hillside virtually across the street from Tlaquepaque. In addition to restaurants and shops, it has a number of nice highland galleries as well as art sculptures.
• The Shops at Pinon Pointe is another high-end mall at the entry of Uptown Sedona. While the shops do have some nice galleries, the rest of the uptown strip is, at least to our taste, a wasteland of souvenir shops and tour offices. Even if the shops are nothing special, just look between and above them for views of the magnificent scenery.
• Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village is the highlight of the city’s art scene. This beautifully landscaped complex is designed after a Mexican Village and is built around a series of courtyards. It has stucco walls, huge carved wooden doors, cobble-stone walkways, flowers, majestic trees, and fountains. It also has about 40 shops, four restaurants, and more than a dozen galleries, representing many different types of art.

Sedona Arts Center is located in the center of Uptown. It facilitates the development of an artist community through all levels of art classes, workshops, and a large gallery that showcases over 100 artists who demonstrate their work.

And don’t forget the more than two dozen large-scale public art sculptures that are placed across the city.
